17 Days Langtang-Helambu-Gosainkunda Trekking!!

Langtang Gosaikunda Helambu Trek:The amazing adventurous Langang Gosaiknda Helembhu Trek combines of a unique and one of the best trekking trail in Langtang Himalayan ranges. This trekking combines three popular trekking trails; Langtang Valley, Gosaikunda Lake and Helambu valley lies in the north of Kathmandu valley offering numerous stunning views of mountains with rare veracities vegetation and glimpse sight of wild life. The main attracion are rhododendron and bamboo forests with an abundance of wildlife, majestic waterfalls flowing over mammoth boulders, a chance to bathe in soothing hot springs, magnificent views of the snow covered white giant Langtang Lirung, Visiting the holy lakes of Gosainkund. The Langtang Circuit Trekking route goes through traditional, ethnic Tamang heritage villages and untouched forests juniper, pine. Details Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264 ft)

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu airport, you will be greeted by a representative from Sea & Sky Tours & Travels Trekking & Expedition (P) Ltd. After completing your custom formalities (Visa, etc) transfer to hotel rest, and then meet your trekking guide as well as other participants. Evening will be a welcome dinner hosted by Sea & Sky Tours & Travels Trekking & Expedition where you will be served excellent authentic Nepalese cuisine which will introduce you to the country's food culture, and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing & Preparation for the Trek

Today after breakfast we start a guided tour to several of the most historical and spiritual attractions in Kathmandu. The day will also be for finalizing official procedure and other necessary arrangements. You will be also briefed on the nature of the trek, equipments and team composition. Some of landmarks we visit include the World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, the famous 'Monkey Temple' (Swayambhunath) and Buddhists shrine (Bouddhanath).  In the afternoon, there will be a pre-trip discussion where we can meet our trek leader and other team members. You can also make your last minute buying of personal items as you will be leaving for the Himalayas tomorrow.

Day 03: Drive to Syabrubesi (1,550m/5,100ft): 145 km/ 7 hrs

Morning after breakfast we will drive out along the north-western hills of Kathmandu. Enjoy the Himlayan views and mountainous lifestyle through the terraced fields and rustic villages. Take Lunch at the Trishuli Bazar before continuing further to  Dhunche. From Dhunche we descent down to Syabrubesi and overnight at hotel.

Day 04: Trek to Lama Hotel (2,380m/7,830ft): 6 hrs

This is our first day of trekking today.  Follow the Langtang Khola River. Pass through the dense forests. Cross several suspension bridges. We also pass by a tea houses.  The trail goes up and down but it's not that challenging and overnight stay at tea house.

Day 05: Trek to Mundu (3543m/11,621ft) via Langtang village (3,430m/11,253ft): 6-7 hrs

Today after breakfast, we start our trekking day towards the village of Mundu. Our trail continues along dense forests. After making a steady climb up through the valley, we leave the tree line behind us. Enjoy the marvelous views of Langtang Lirung. On the way to Mundu, you will also pass the Langtang Village, which was severely affected by earthquake in last year. Langtang Valley alone lost 400 lives, flooded away by an earthquake-triggered avalanche, destroying an entire village and infrastructures. We also see the ruins of Langtang Village, where life is slowing building back and a few tea-houses are reopened and overnight stay at tea house.

Day 06: Trek to Kyangjin Gompa (3,870m/12,697ft): 3 hrs. Explore the area.

After breakfast, we will start our journey to Kyangjin Gompa, a principal monastery of the region. You will pass by water mills, prayer wheels, chortens, with sacred mounds of rocks with inscriptions carved on them.  Also pass the largest mani wall in Nepal, made from stone with prayers written on them. The prayers written on the mani wall is supposed to be blown away by the wind. After the short trek, you will spend the rest of the afternoon exploring the Buddhist shrine and surrounding areas with the amazing views of the mountains and overnight at tea house.

Day 07: Explore Tserko Ri (5000m/16,404ft) 7-8 hrs

Morning after tea and breakfast, we get out of the village and pass on through yak pastures and start for visiting to Tserko Ri  (5000m/16,404ft) for mountain sunrise views. Since, we are really getting into the high altitudes you might start feeling the thin air. In the afternoon return to Kanjin Gompa- surrounded by the Himalayas all around. You can take a walk around Kanjin Gompa enjoying the views, glaciers, icefalls, birds and yaks and overnight stay at tea house.

Day 08: Trek to Lama Hotel (2,470m/8,104ft): 5-6 hours

Today you retract to Lama Hotel. All the way downhill but you will see fantastic views of towering mountain what you have missed on the way up. Take more time and suggested you to walk very slow. Overnight in Lama Hotel.

Day 09: Trek to Thulo Syabru (2,230m/ 7,316ft): 5-6 hours

First trail decent to river, cross the river and ascend to Thulo Syabru. You will see the fascinating view of Langtang Himal and more. On the way of your trek you will pass through pine and Junieerps forests. Overnight in Thulo Syabru.

Day 10: Trek to Shin gomba: (3,330m/10,925ft)3-5 hours

After Breakfast You take the broad trail climbing up to Dimsa village and the trial continues less steeply, through rhododendron, hemlock and Oak forests to Shin gomba. On the way of your trek you will see fantastic views of Langtang Himala and langtang valley. Shin gomba is another popular place for Cheese. Overnight in Shin gomba.

Day 11: Trek to Gosainkunda (4,460m/14,632ft): 5-6 hours

The trail ascends smoothly through rhododendron covered point to the top of the rim and through a forested area. The area in-between Shin gomba and Laurebina Yak is a sanctuary for the red panda, an endangered species that the Nepalese call cat bear. You return to the ridge path and climb a wider route through alpine country to arrive at a Gosainkunda. Explore around the Lakes and overnight in Gosainkund.

Day 12: Trek to Gopte (3,440m/11,286ft): 6-8 hours

Today is a bit challenge day; the trail is climb, rough and crosses moraines. Passing three more small lakes, the trail ascend and cross Laurebina La (4,609m/15,121ft) after the pass, the path down to phedi and you continue walk up and down throughout crossing a rocky hill with pine, rhododendron trees. Overnight in Gopte.

Day 13: Trek to Malemchigaon (2,560m/8,399ft): 6-7 hours

You slide down through a forested area and climb through a dry river-bed to arrive at a Kharka that is surrounded by rhododendron forest. You climb through the forest to arrive at the village of Thare Pati. Climbing the ridge directly above the village gives you a marvelous view of the Jugal area. Cross the village and enter a forested area, again descending to Melamchi River followed by yet again climbing to the Malemchigaon for overnight.

Day 14: Trek to Tarke Gyang (2,590m/8,497ft): 5-7 hours

The day you enter a cultural destination it call Helambu Region, walk up to Tarke Gyang where you can enjoy with Sherpa culture with traditional village and monasteries. The stone houses are close together with narrow alleyways separating them. Overnight in Tarke Gyang.

Day 15: Trek to Sermathang (2,610m/8,563ft): 3-5 hours

You will cross small forest with the view of beautiful village of Helembu region. The trail makes a sweep around the wide valley end between Parachin and the pretty Sharpa village of Gangyul. The people of this village practice Drukpa Kagyu Buddhism, the same as the national religion of Bhutan. Overnight in Sermathang.

Day 16: Trek to Melamchi Puul Bazaar -Kathmandu: 3-4 hours and 2 hour Drive

Today Short walk down to Malemchi Puul Bazaar with many Sherpa village and catch transport to Katmandu. Himalayan Glacier Trekking will host a farewell dinner. Congratulations on the completion of your trek! Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 17: Farewell Friend

We are saying good bye to the mountains as journey in Nepal comes to an end today! There is nothing to do but trade emails with travel companions and organize the photos. If you have more time you can do some shopping or sightseeing. Approximately 3 hours before the scheduled flight a representative from Sea & Sky Tours & Travels Trekking & Expedition will take you to the airport. On your way home you'll have plenty of time to plan your next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal.

10 Days Langtang Valley Trekking!!

Langtang valley trekking is situated in the north of Kathmandu. It is one of the most popular trekking areas in Nepal, as the trekking to the area offers a multitude of trekking destinations. Langtang valley lies at the south of the Tibetan border, is sandwiched between the main Himalayan range to the north and a slightly lower range of snowy peaks to the south. Langtang Lirung (7246m) lies to the north; Gang Chhenpo(6388m) and Naya Kanga ri (5846m) lie to the south and Dorje Lakpa (6966m) at the east of the valley. Details Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu:

After arrival in Kathmandu International airport, you will be welcomed by our officer. He will assist you to transfer the hotel. At hotel he gives you orientation of the overall trip. Meet your trekking guide. Evening welcome dinner with Typical Nepali Style with live folk music and dance, hosted by Sea & Sky Tours & Travels Trekking & Expedition, Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 2 Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubeshi:

Wake up early in the morning. Have a breakfast at the hotel. Drive few minutes to catch up coach for Syabrubeshi with your trekking guide and porter. The coach departs at 7 o’clock. Enjoy seven our scenic drive through Trishuli Valley with villages, river and mountains. The bus stops half an hour nearby highway restaurants on the way for lunch. You will be reached at Syabrubeshi (1,460m) around 2 or 3 o’clock. Check in at mountain lodge at Syabrubeshi. The rest of the day is free. Overnight at mountain lodge.

Day 3 Trek from Shabrubeshi to Lama Hotel:

From today after breakfast your trekking starts. You start your walking on your own pace and the trail ascends for around two hours through the forest followed by a climb of about an hour to reach Bamboo village (1,850m/6,068ft) where you’ll stop for lunch. This forested path with well stabilized trails and following the upstream and can be seen birds life around the bushes. Bee hives hanging on a cliff are another attraction for the visitors. From here you will again steeply climb through the bamboo forest to reach the Lama Hotel (2560m) where you’ll rest and overnight at a local teahouse. Overnight at mountain lodge.

Day 4 Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang Valley:

Today you will have a pleasant walk and follow the trail through rhododendron and pine forest for around three hours to reach Ghoda Tabela where you will stop for lunch. This surrounding area dense wild habitat area and many small babblers with lot of herbal can be found here. After lunch you will walk another three hours on the scenic trail takes you to Langtang village (3455m) where you will relax for the evening. Overnight at mountain lodge.

Day 5 Trek from Langtang Valley to Kyanjin Gompa:

Today after breakfast you will leave beautiful Langtang Village and start your trek leisurely for around three to four hours to visit Kyanjing Gompa. Kyanjin Gompa is the last destination of your trekking at an altitude of 3817m from sea level. From here you will have beautiful views of Mt Ganchempo and Mt. Langtang Lirung. You will visit surrounding area like Yak cheese Factory, Kyanjin Monastery and local houses. Overnight at mountain lodge.

Day 6 Explore around Kyanjin Gompa and climb to Tsego Ri:

Today you will explore around natural beauties of Kyanjin Gompa. In the morning if you are interested your guide takes you to climb Tsego Ri (5150m). Then visit Langtang glacier and Langshisha Kharka (the beautiful yak pasture land). You back to the same mountain lodge at Kyanjin for a rest. Overnight at mountain lodge.

Day 7 Trek back from Kyanjin Gompa to Ghoda Tabela:

This morning you retrace your steps to Ghoda Tabela. The walking will be pleasant and scenic one. Overnight at mountain lodge.

Day 8 Trek back from Ghoda Tabela to Shabrubeshi:

Today you walk down to Syabrubeshi via Lama Hotel and Bamboo through previous rhododendron forest and along with Bhotekoshi river. Overnight at mountain lodge.

Day 9 Drive back to Kathmandu from Syabrubeshi through the same previous road:

 After breakfast catch a coach to set for Kathmandu. After reach in Kathmandu, you will be taken to your hotel. Have a rest. In evening you can stroll around Thamel, the major tourist destination of Kathmandu. You can do some last minute shopping of souvenirs for your family and relatives. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 10 Transfer to the airport for your onward journey:

Today is your last day in Nepal. Our officer will come to meet you at the hotel to escort you to Kathmandu International Airport for your flight to home.
