Pokhara and transfer to New Bridge (Naya Pool) on the
Pokhara-Baglung highway. From there, we start walking north following the course
of the Modi Khola upstream to the Gurung village of Chandrung. Gurungs are one
of the major groups that make up the British Gurkhas and have earned worldwide
fame for bravery in battle. Crossing the Modi Khola river, we arrive at Landrung
and turn south towards Dham and back to PPS Pokhara. The walk takes us along the
trade route that winds up the Kali Gandaki river valley north to Mustang and on
to Tibet. A panorama of the Annapurna range and glimpses of charming villages
are the rewards of this trek.
